Manchester United defeated Chelsea 6-5 on penalties to win the Champions League in Moscow - 2008

The Champions League trophy waits expectantly to be won again, having been handed back by last year's winners AC Milan.

It was a night which reminds me during 1999 season where Manchester United were crowned as treble champions. (EPL, FA Cup & Champions League)

This year, 2008, seems to be a happy season for me as a Man Utd fan. Me myself went out to watch this live match at a roadside mamak, Al-Rahmat.

Together with Siang Ying, Hong Siong, and Law, we shared the excitement, joy, cheers and sadness from the crowd there.

When i was form 3, it was a night for me and my friends who cheered for Man Utd, not to forget where Man Utd beaten Bayern Munich 2-1 in final minutes.

This time it was a tough game, i thought it was a game over when Christiano Ronaldo missed the penalty. God blessed many Man Utd fan's prayer, John Terry and Anelka both missed the penalty and in the end Man Utd won :D

Paul Scholes, who missed United's triumph in 1999 through suspension, feels the full force of a collision with Claude Makelele - and was booked too.

An on-fire Cristiano Ronaldo leapt highest to score his 42nd goal of the season

LUCKY LAMPARD? Against the run of play, Frank Lampard latched on to a deflected shot to put Chelsea level again on the stroke of half-time.

Didier Drogba is sent off for a petulant slap on Nemanja Vidic at the end of extra-time. Is it the last we see of him in a Chelsea shirt?

Manchester United are the Champions of Europe and the Champions of England too!!!

The summary of penalty kicks.

  • Sir Alex Ferguson has just revealed that is the first penalty shoot out he has won as a manager! Amazing!
  • Ryan Giggs broke Bobby Charlton's all-time Manchester United club appearance record on Wednesday when he replaced Paul Scholes after 87 minutes of the Champions League final against Chelsea at the Luzhniki Stadium. It was Giggs' 759th appearance for United, surpassing Charlton's mark of 758 which was also set against Chelsea in his last match for United in April 1973.
  • Christiano Ronaldo headed United in front with his 42nd goal of a memorable season.
